Any business equipment your business purchases and places into service are 100% tax deductible.
You can elect to deduct their entire cost in one year (up to $105,000), under the rules of Tax Code Section "179". Alternatively, you can depreciate (write-off) the cost of this business equipment over its "tax life" (as determined by the IRS). The useful (tax) life for equipment, and furniture and fixtures is 7 years.
If you elect to depreciate the cost, you can use either MACRS accelerated depreciation rates or MACRS straight-line rates. Additionally, there is a special 50% bonus depreciation allowance that can be used to accelerate your business' equipment write-off more quickly.
